WHY  ARE  WE  OPERATING  CFCO  SITE?

CFCO is an independent group of experts in the astronomy of moon’s visibility, and lunar Islamic calendar. We help Muslims by accurately predicting the moon’s visibility in the USA and other regions. We evaluate sighting claims by set standards to see that Ramadan and Eidain dates are according to the observable Hilal of the Qur’an and the Sunnah.

CFCO provides facts and information in order to empower those to whom the issue of crescent visibility relative to Islamic dates is an important one. Once empowered, those individuals will hold the decision makers to a higher level of accountability, which will result in a higher level of responsible governance by religious leaders. Remember the guidance of the Holy Prophet SAW: A community is as strong as its rightly guided leaders. We should follow our leaders as long as they follow the orders of Allah. If they don't, it becomes our responsibility to correct them, before we replace them with those who are willing to lead responsibly.

CFCO - Moonsighting Seminars

We plan to organize Moonsighting seminars in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington D.C., Houston/Dallas, New York and other cities with a sizeable Muslim community between March and July 2007. We urgently need local sponsors. If your center/mosque is interested, please contact us at 607-277-6706. The centers have to fix the date, publicize the event, and host the CFCO speakers. We will provide the travel expenses of the speakers (if needed).
