Shawwal
Crescent
Shawwal 2010 crescent
moon has been sighted in Florida at several places. Insha-Allah Eid will be on
Friday, Sept. 10, 2010.
ISNA/ECFR
Eid on Thursday, Sept. 9 2010??
ISNA date for Eid al-Fitr
1431 was Friday, Sept. 10, 2010. Now ISNA will ask Muslims in the USA to
celebrate Eid on Thursday. This is not the first time ISNA Fiqh Council/ECFR
tell the Muslims to follow Saudi dates and disobey the Qur'an and the Sunnah.
For years, they have fixed Ramadan and Eidain dates without sighting the moon.
Now ISNA may go a step further like Libya. European Council of Fatwa and
Research (ECFR) criteria is based on New Moon conjunction. They have already
declared Eid al-Fitr to be on Thursday, 9 September 2010 (See extract from Leeds
Grand Mosque (UK) website below)
"Based on these conditions and the decision passed by the International Fiqh
Academy, resolution number 18, during its third assembly in 1986 which stated
that there is no importance in the difference in sighting-zones (La ‘ibra fi
Ikhtilaf Al-matali’)1 due to the generality of the speech (‘umum Al-Khitab) of
the prophet PBUH2: “Fast by seeing it and end the fast by seeing it” the first
day of Shawal for the year 1431 Hijri (the first day of blessed Eid Al-fitr)
shall be by the will of Allah (the most high) on Thursday 9th September 2010. "

Since the Ummul Qura date of 29 Ramadan 1431 is Wednesday 8 September 2010,
Saudi Justice Ministry has asked the official Hilal Committees to look for the
moon on Wednesday, even though the moon sets before the sunset on Makkah horizon
and everywhere in the world.
Only Saudi eyes can see
a moon that has already before the sunset.
Eid Moon
Alert
Sept. 8, 2010
Shawwal Hilal is NOT visible anywhere in the world ( Argentina (Alt. 6.6
degrees), Chile (Alt. 7.7 degrees), Hawaii (3.5 degrees). The moon is below the
horizon in most of the populated earth. Its age, lag etc. are too low for human
eyes to see its crescent moon.
Sep. 9, 2010
Shawwal Hilal is most likely seen in: Australia,Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri
Lanka, South Africa, Nigeria, most of S. America including Brazil,Argentina,
Panama and Hawaii.
It will not be seen in Makkah Mukarramah or Cairo. Japan, northern China,
central Asia, ME,Turkey and most of Europe including England, USA and Canada are
outside the visibility curve though some slight chance exists in Miami, Fl, and
southern areas of Texas, Arizona, and California.
Sep. 10, 2010 or later:
Shawwal Moon may be visible in Japan, India Pakistan, Saudi Arabia/ME,
Turkey/Northern Europe, England and Ireland, most of USA except northern Canada
and Alaska
Please try to sight the Hilal of Shawwal on September 8, 9 and report positive

Saudi Ramadan : Bedouins Saw what Telescopes Could Not
From: Aziz Raje aziz@vitessemailing.com Date: Aug
13, 2010 Subject: Ramadhan 1431 To: Aziz <aziz@Vitessemailing.com>
السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته Alhamdolillah, I could join the
official Hillal Committee of Makkah once again. We were joined by the
representatives from King Abdul Aziz City for Sc. & Tech., Ministry of
Justice, Ministry of Information and prominent scholars for a joint
attempt to sight Ramadan moon on August 10, 2010.
We also had a Meade LX200 Telescope but could not sight the Hilal. All
the dignitaries signed a negative sighting report and duly faxed to the
Authorities in Riyadh. Later, we found out that none of 9 official Saudi
Hilal Committees reported a sighting .However, some Bedouins from
Shagrah (near Riyadh) claimed a sighting through the clouds what
telescopes could not sight. On this testimony the Holy Month was
officially commenced on Wed. 11th August.
Ramadan Moon NOT SEEN on August 10 ANYWHERE in the world
From:<mhafiz11@...> Aug. 10, 2010 To: Afzal <omarafzal1@... >;
Br. Fuad Musa of Chile stated that the Hilaal for Ramadan was NOT SEEN
by the Muslim communities Chile or Argentina. Astronomy Dept at the
University of Chile also looked for the Hilaal at the observatory using
advance telescope. The Hilaal was not observed by naked eye.
Shariah Boards May Force Eid on September 10, 2010
Shariah Boards and some other groups say they strictly follow
moon-sighting for Ramadan and Eoidain. They started Ramadan 2010 on
August 12. But it was only because Ramadan moon was not sighted in the
Caribbean Islands.
These groups (Barelvi and Deobandi alike) have extended USA Matla to
South America. It was a gimmick to coincide their dates with ISNA
because they were losing money fore two years. Their Eid day collections
were drastically reduced because their followers ran to ISNA mosques
that celebrate Eid a day early.
Shariah Boards may celebrate Eid al-Fitr on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 by
Caribbean moon even if it was NOT SEEN in USA and Canada in the evening
of Sep. 9, 2010.
Zulfiqar Shah (ISNA): Qur'an does not mandate physical sighting
Dr. Zulfiqar Shah claims that certainty, not actual sighting, is the
real objective of the Shari'ah and that the Qur'an does not mandate
physical sighting.
Qur’an 2:189 may not mean that "everyone must sight", but definitely it
does not mean that "no one needs to sight" as Shah has interpreted. May
Allah have mercy on those who differ with the words of Allah swt, and
the practice of His Messenger (PBUH).
Why Muftis Stumble?
Shah’s book is a compelling evidence of why Muftis stumble? They rush to
give Fatwa (opinion) without proper understanding or careful research of
the issues.
Evidently, Shah also does not understand several facts:
The New Moon (at conjunction), and Islamic Hilal (the earliest visible
waxing crescent moon after the New Moon phase) are two distinct physical
phenomena.
The New Moon could be calculated quite accurately for almost three
thousand years. The Jews in Medina during the time of the Prophet (as
well as the Babylonians, Hindus, Chinese, etc.) had this expertise. One
of the grounds for rejecting the “prophet-hood” of Muhammad (SAW) was
that he did not know what even ordinary Rabbis could calculate.
The New Moon could be accurately calculated, but not the Hilal. Many
made frantic efforts for the last three thousand years and failed.
Fard Kifayah: Does it mean “It is Not Required”
Br. Khalid Shaukat quotes Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Shah’s Claim "Sighting" is
Fard Kifayah is a FALLACY that ISNA FC is propagating for several years.
Dr. Shah/ISNA FC never responded to a basic question:
If a sighted moon is not required for the Islamic observances, then how
the Muslims
fix the first date of an Islamic month?
Someone has to "see" it and make this information available to others
(to make fasting obligatory for those who did not see it by their own
eyes). Being a Fard Kifayah does not mean sighting of a Hilal IS NOT
REQUIRED at all. If Hilal-sighting is NOT required then why did Allah
prescribe "Ahillah" as the "Mawaqeet"? Why did the Prophet (SAW) require
it to begin his months and why did the Ummah practice it for 1400+
years?
New Moon at Conjunction is NOT A HILAL
The new Muftis like Qaradawi, Shakir, Shah, and ISNA Fiqh Council say:
Fix Islamic dates by the New Moon because it can be calculated,
accurately.
They are extremely naive or outright deceptive.
Ramadan Hilal

The waxing crescent moon (Hilal) of Ramadan will take 3-4 days to become

August 10. ISNA follows Saudi date. Sighting in the Caribbean is also
not possible on August 10.
Islamic Date on May
13, 2010?
Q: I am trying to find out the Islamic date of my baby, born on May 13,
2010 before Maghrib.
A: Take your pick. On May 13 (before Maghrib) was all four Islamic
dates:
1. 29th of Jumada-1, 1431 by Saudi/ISNA/Khalid Shaukat calendar (
Conjunction + moonset AFTER sunset in Makkah rule. ISNA Zulfiqar Shah:
Sighting of a moon is NOT REQUIRED
2. 28th of Jumada-I, 1431 by actually sighted Hilal in N. America (CFCO/
Hilal-sighting Com.
3. 27th of Jumada-I 1431 by the sighted Hilal in India/Pakistan/S.
Africa, S. America, northern Europe, Australia, etc. (Jumada-II Hilal
was seen only on May 16.)
4. 26th of Jumada-I 1431by the sighted Hilal in northern and southern
parts of the globe.
Unfortunately, the Muslims don't know how to fix the Islamic dates and
chaos will continue.
